Concept & Strategy
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), in collaboration with YMC, launched the "Me & Nic Broke Up" campaign to help Chicago youth understand the risks of vaping and support cessation efforts. Using relatable messaging and youth-focused platforms, the campaign featured student UGC creators, TikTok mini-series, scholarship pledge, OOH ads, and community and public school events. These efforts provided education and resources for maintaining a vape-free lifestyle, while encouraging Chicago students to “break up” with nicotine.

"This campaign gave me the motivation to permanently quit vaping, which I’m incredibly grateful for. Over the past few years, I had started to cut down, but now I can’t even think about vaping in the same way. The Chicago Department of Public Health has truly helped me commit to staying vape-free."
